Are there wild alligators in West Virginia?

While visiting a wildlife park in Florida, I   noticed that the sign at the alligator exhibit stated that West Virginia is the northern range of the American alligator.  Are there wild alligators in West Virginia?  I have challenged the wildlife park to either change its sign or provide scientific evidence that alligators are indigenous to West Virginia.

Rest assured that there are no wild gators in West Virginia.  The actual northern range of the American alligator is the coastal boundary between Virginia and North Carolina:
